Walking Shield is pleased to introduce two new members of our team. Jorge Cortez and Andy Ceron have joined us on a temporary assignment as our student interns. Jorge and Andy are students at California State University, Long Beach Master of Social Work program.
Both young men are in their final year of the program and are currently working with us to expand the work we do with American Indian families. Their experience in the human services field ranges from working with the Department of Children and Family Services to working with older adults.
It has been very nice having Jorge and Andy in the office two days a week and we are excited to help them reach their educational goals over the next several months. We believe the feeling is mutual, as they nicely stated the following.
“We have the pleasure of working with John Castillo and the wonderful staff at Walking Shield. We look forward to contributing to Walking Shield’s mission to improve the lives of American Indian families and are enjoying the learning opportunities that have been provided to us.”
In their free time, Andy enjoys playing the guitar and working out. Jorge likes jogging and spending quality time with friends and family.
Please join us by giving Jorge and Andy a very warm welcome to Walking Shield!
